When staying in Springfield Massachusetts the hotel Marriott is a great choice for accomodations.
Here's an excellent review we found on the
tripadvisor website (our favorite website for great reviews)
for the Springfield Marriott:
April 2005. There is a saying “we like best that
to which we are accustomed.” That may be part of the reason that I
really like the Springfield Marriott. I have probably stayed at this
property over 100 nights during the past 15 years. All of my stays have
been for business.
The hotel underwent a complete renovation mid 2004. The rooms went from
being pretty drab to beautiful. The best part of the renovation was the
new Marriott beds, which are super comfortable. I want one of these for
home! Besides the bed, the pillows and bedding are all first class and
very tasteful.
I really like the way the rooms are decorated. The colors and style
seem to be a “cut above” most business hotels. The prints on the wall
are perfect and really add to the ambiance.

The room has pretty much the things we take for granted. The TV is one
of the On-Command units with PPV movies, local channels, a limited
selection of cable channels, video games, music, and hotel services. I
appreciate and always use the video check-out. There is a HS internet
connection by STSN on the work desk. The hotel offers Marriott’s “Wired
for Business” plan which is $9.95 per day for internet and unlimited
local and long distance telephone calls.
The Marriott Springfield is right in downtown Springfield and therefore
as in most cities there is a charge for parking which was $13.00 per
night. Parking is located between the lobby level and the actual hotel.
You can park your car for a short while right outside the font door on
the ground level to check in and then drive up to the parking lot
located on level “C.”
One side of the hotel offers a view of the Connecticut River and I91.
The other side offers views of the city of Springfield. I prefer a
“City View” room as they are somewhat quieter, especially on the lower
floors.
The hotel has a well equipped workout room and up a few stairs from it,
an indoor pool and whirlpool spa. There hotel has both a pretty good
restaurant, Currents, and a sports bar. The concierge lounge on the
15th floor offers hot and cold appetizers early evening, desert at
7:30, and a nice continental breakfast with scrambled eggs in the
morning.
I have stayed at several of the other hotels in the area and the
Marriott is my favorite primarily because of the high level and
consistency of the service. The recent renovation just added to the
positive experience.
